Gaza : Israel has announced the reopening of its three commercial crossings with the Gaza Strip, closed down two days ago.
A spokesman for the Israeli Army, speaking to local radio Friday, said the decision came after deliberations between Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barrak and top ministry officials at a meeting Thursday to evaluate the situation in the Gaza Strip.
The army closed the crossings after Palestinians launched a missile on Wednesday from northern Gaza at southern Israel, causing no casualties or damage.
No Palestinian faction claimed responsibility for the attack, which constituted a breach of the truce reached nine weeks ago with Israel.
The spokesman added that shipments of food, fuel, medicine and other essentials would be allowed to enter the Nahal Oz, Kerm Shalom and Sofa crossings Friday.
