Kathmandu : Nepali President Ram Baran Yadavis set to visit the flood-affected regions in Sunsari district on Monday.
President Yadav will be accompanied by senior government officials.
He will seek information regarding the relief and rescue efforts being carried out in the region.
Meanwhile, the unsari District Administration Office has informed that around 35,000 people have been “affected” by the flood resulting from the breakdown of embankment in the Saptakoshi River, local leading news website Nepalnews.com reported on Monday.
Many of the affected people are seeking shelter in Inaruwa of the district headquarters, and also in over two dozen camps in Saptari district.
Southeastern Nepal is undergoing a misfortune and painful situation created by full inundation of three Village Development Committees (VDCs) and four other VDCs partially submerged in Sunsari district, some 220 km southeast of capital Kathmandu, after the embankment of the Saptakoshi River suddenly broke down on last Monday.
