"The school made me undertake an entrance test and failed me in that since I live in a resettlement colony. Finally I filed an RTI application asking the government education department to tell me if there is any provision of an entrance test for a student who has successfully passed Class 10," Shahnaz told IANS.

Ten militants killed in clash in Pakistan

"Two foreign security personnel working for a security company were killed in the explosion," said Ali Shah Paktiawal, Kabul deputy police chief. "Three foreigners and two Afghan civilians were injured." The officials did not reveal the nationalities of the victims. However, media reports said one American and one Nepalese were killed and three Americans were injured. One vehicle was totally damaged in the powerful explosion that targeted a convoy.

One German hostage still alive: Afghan authorities

Kabul : One of the German hostages purportedly held by the Taliban was still alive, but a second hostage had died of a heart attack, the Afghan foreign ministry said Saturday.

In a day of fast-changing developments, a ministry spokesman said that Kabul authorities were working to secure the safe return of the hostage still alive.

"Our security agencies reported to us that one of the German engineers is still alive and the second died of heart attack and heat," ministry spokesman Sultan Ahmad Baheen told DPA.
