“We take into account all Islamic personalities that come to perform the Hajj,” he said.

This came in response to a question to Prince Naif on security precautions that might have been taken regarding the Iranian president’s visit to Saudi Arabia.

Prince Naif said in a press conference tonight that the president’s visit to Saudi Arabia on Monday comes in response to an invitation from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz.

The Saudi Interior Minister, who concluded a night inspection tour of the sacred sites in Makkah in addition to embassies and Hajj pilgrimage missions arriving in Saudi Arabia, asked all involved in this year’s Hajj season to cooperate with government bodies to prevent any procedural hitches that might delay the entry of pilgrims into the country.

He pointed for the need to educate pilgrims about regulations and guidelines for the Hajj so as not to be subjected to strict penalties, warning that all offenders will be prosecuted.
