Delhi : Only one Muslim candidate was able to qualify for admissions to 126th Course of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. The Union Public Service Commission declared the results of Combined Defence Services Examination I, 2008.
Md Raja Hussain Azad ranked at 99 was the only Muslim candidate among list of 184 qualified. No Muslim was able to qualify for Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy this year.
Three Muslims have qualified for each of the previous four CDS exams.
The selected candidates have qualified on the basis of the results of the written examination and interview for admission to the 126th Course of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Naval Academy, Goa and 185th (Pre-Flying) Training Course of Air Force Station, Begumpet, Hyderabad.
The number of vacancies for Indian Military Academy is 250, for Naval Academy is 40 and for Air Force Academy, the vacancies are 32.
