Cochi: State government is thinking of appointing a special officer to accelerate the procedures of setting up the off-campus centre of the Aligarh Muslim University in Malappuram district, said Mr. MA Baby, Minister of Education, in the Assembly. He added that the cabinet has decided to acquire 397 acres of land via fast track facility.

Mr. Baby said that the Revenue Department has formed an acquisition unit comprising of 40 officers. The government has entrusted the Director of College Education to fix a rate for the land consulting with the District Collector of Malappuram and to submit an application as per the New Service Procedure for allocation of funds. The government has informed the AMU of the measures taken by it with regard to the off-campus centre. The government has also assured the AMU that it would make a temporary arrangement of the Centre took measures to begin the campus soon.

The Minister also said that no cases regarding the land acquisition have come to the notice of the cabinet. However, the owners of the land at Perinthalmanna, which the government has chosen for the off-campus centre, have approached court against the government move to acquire the land.

The government had selected 251 acres of land in Panakkad for setting up the off-campus centre of the AMU. Later it was said that the land, of the Industries Department, had already been transferred to a public-private company, and so can’t be used for the AMU campus. But, it was stated last day in the Assembly by Mr. Elamaram Kareem, Industries Minister, that the land had not yet been transferred to any agency.

The government has now chosen about 400 acres of land at Perinthalmanna for the purpose. An office was inaugurated this month for the land acquisition process, but sufficient officials were not appointed.

Now it is the duty of Kerala govt.

Central government has allocated an amount in budget for AMU campus in Malappuram .Now we can see whether the left government is truly sincere to the people of Malabar region or not.Till today the attitude of government is not positive.

Yevadey, Avadey, Yevadey !

Its impossible to argue with a Keralite / Maliabari. They are too rigid and uncompromising. They are not willing to listen to a different point of view.

Their language is very harsh on the ear. As it is their voices and delivery are very harsh. Listen to the language., and you know what i mean. If a dolphin hears it., it might die. There is no musicality in Dravidian languages.

Sometimes i remember Macaulay who said : "One shelf of my library cupboard v/s.... "

Why do you hate keralites?.

Why do you hate keralites?.

AMU campus in Kerala

Marxists are appeasing Muslims by setting up an AMU campus in Kerala.

Muslims will only become more backward due to these types of stupid things! If Govt wants to help, they should have (and Muslims should ahve asked that money be spent on alternative than AMU) started a Technology Training College, or Medical technology/ Nursing etc rather than another collge/univ which will manufacture BA History and Arabic garduates..Kerala ahs enough of that; why acquire 400 acres (that too on a fast track program!) for an educational indstitution that does not add any value? get an IIT, or AIIMS, or techniican training, or IAS coaching or something like that.. Does Kerala need another liberal arts institution? Should govt buy 400 acres for this?

It looks like the priorities of Kerala Govt and Muslim community are assbackwards

AMU CAMPUS IN KERALA.....WORK FOR IT...FOR DEVELOPING KERALA

Dear brother Gopi, please dont comment on the issues in which you are not an expert. The proposed AMU campus in Kerala is not a campus of humanities/arts college. The major attraction of the campus is Medical College.Do you know, we north Keralites have only one government Medical college. In Kerala actually the importance of medical college is not academic.Poor people depend medical colleges for expert treatment. In south Kerala there are four government medical colleges whereas in north only one medical college that also with much disabilities. The authorities were neglecting us.Please be dont against us.Please support us if you are really a sincere Indian.
The following is from an interview by AMU VC with THE HINDU DAILY.

"Could you explain the character of the regional centres to be set up? "

"It is proposed to replicate the Aligarh Muslim University model in all the centres. The university will establish a medical college, dental college, engineering college, law school, business school and various departments depending on the needs of the regional centres. The university will consult the local stakeholders before a decision is taken.

The centres will be managed by the University Court and the Executive Council and the headquarters will be Aligarh. Details of the governing structure and other aspects remain to be worked out"

I REQUEST ALL KERALITES TO WORK FOR AMU CAMPUS IN MALAPPURAM.

FIVE MEDICAL COLLEGES IN SOUTH...ONLY ONE IN NORTH.

Very correct.
An ESI Medical College is proposed in Kollam by central government. There are government medical colleges one each in Trichur,Kottayam,Alappuzha and Trivandrum now itself.Including the proposed college in Kollam,South Kerala will have Five medical colleges, where as only one in populous North Kerala. The single one in Kozhikode is with a lot of inadequacies.
Some ignorant people think that Pariyaram medical college in Kannur is a government institution. It is a pure private institute in all criteria.
AMU campus in Malappuram will provide one more medical college for north Kerala.
LDF government should give up its indifferent attitude towards AMU campus in Malappuram and should provide most suitable site.LDF always claim of equality. They should make it practical by providing equal opportunities to people of north Kerala-Malabar also.
A government medical college should be put up in Kasargod also.

LDF government should come

LDF government should come forward to provide equal justice to North Kerala people. If the government is bold enough to give adequate number of plus two seats and Government medical colleges to north kerala, it will be a revolutionary step for the development of Kerala.

Railway budget proposes
