SDPI march banned in Ernkulam district
By TwoCricles.net Staff Correspondent,
Kochi: The marches and meetings of the Social Democratic Party have been banned in the Ernakulam district, according to reports. The order was issued by ADM KN Raji who is in charge of the District Collector. The ban would be effective till August 15. The ban applicable to all organisations related to the Popular Front of India was reportedly taken based on intelligence reports that the march may lead to law and order problems.
The SPDI had planned to organize the popular march against political suppression from August 2 to 6. The march was organized to be held in four zones in the state in the wake of widespread propaganda against the party and its mother-organisation PFI. The party had accused that the propaganda against the party was out of fear of the SDPI’s political entry.
The Freedom Parade organised by the PFI in some major towns in the state on Independence Day were already banned following the suspected involvement of the members of the organisation in the attack on the controversial professor in Ernakulam.
