“Welfare of serving soldiers and ex-servicemen is an issue which is very close to my heart,” he added.

Reacting to outgoing army chief General Bikram Singh’s statement that India Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan after an Indian soldier was beheaded along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir, Suhag said that if a similar incident occurred, the Indian Army’s response “will be more than adequate in future”.

On Jan 8, 2013, Pakistani soldiers entered Indian territory in Krishna Ghati sector of the border and killed two Indian soldiers. Indian officials said both bodies were mutilated, and one decapitated.
