Archaeology workshop for MANUU students

Hyderabad: The Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), a non-profit, is organizing a 10–day excavation programme at the Qutb Shahi tombs from November 24.

The H K Sherwani Centre for Deccan Studies, MANUU has made the arrangements to take the students from the University’s Department of History to participate in the excavation programme where they will be trained in various techniques and procedures that are involved in the process, a release said here.

The field trip will entail among other activities at the Qutb Shahi tombs, lectures on characteristics of Islamic architecture, visit to Golconda fort and hands-on learning experience in excavation techniques. The students will be given a certificate of participation upon completion of the programme.

The coordinator of the programme is A Subash, Assistant Professor, H K Sherwani Centre for Deccan Studies, the release added.
