New Delhi: While the Indian army is extensively helping to evacuate thousands stranded and affected people in Jammu and Kashmir, their efforts and government’s prompt intervention is being largely appreciated throughout the world.
Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society (IKFS), a non-profit socio-cultural friendship association in Kuwait has expressed deep gratitude to the Indian Army for moving hundreds of columns for evacuating hundreds of thousand people from different areas of the state so far.
Constant rain and landslides have wreaked havoc in Jammu and Kashmir. A devastating deluge has brought life to a standstill in the state, claiming more than 200 lives, inundating hundreds of villages and leaving lakhs stranded. Though the water level began to recede in the southern parts Indian states of Jammu & Kashmir, most of the city remained under water even as it finally stopped raining on Sunday, after seven days of continuous downpour, reports of more deaths and destruction poured in from across the state.
IKFS said in the letters addressed to Indian Army, IAC & National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) chiefs, Prime Minister of India that India can overcome any unexpected situation. India is a sleeping giant and nobody underestimate India’s defense power whether in the case of disaster or war or calamity.
IKFS President Dr. Ghalib Al-Mashoor said that IKFS appreciates India’s deployment of several hundred planes and helicopters to vacate the flood victims and deploying Giant aircrafts such as C-130J Super Hercules aircrafts to transport hundreds of boats from Pune and Gandhinagar to Srinagar, and supplying thousands of tents and blankets from Kanpur to Jammu and Srinagar.
IKFS appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s high level meeting with Chief Minister of Kashmir Omar Abdullah and carrying out “Aerial survey of the flood-affected areas” in the Valley to count on unfortunate “National level Disaster”.
Appreciating Narendra Modi, IKFS letter reads,“ We, value immediate relief order by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and for H.E.’s sincere initiative for the assistance of One thousand Crore Indian Rupees (equivalent of about Kuwaiti Dinars 47.5 million) to rescue towards the people of Jammu & Kashmir”, the letter reads.
This is the great proof that our elected Indian Government, Jawans, Pilots, Navy men will never down people of Jammu & Kashmir and never allow to suffer or ignore them in any un-known conditions or calamities.
IKFS also requested all the non-profit disaster response associations to help J&K affected people and do whatever possible way to rescue lives of thousands of human being and thousands of stranded animals affected by this unfortunate disaster.
“All the Indian Associations in Kuwait help people in communities when they need it most. Open world cannot just to witness without extending helping hands for the impacted people by this calamity. Take action today to help those in need”, Dr. Al-Mashoor added.
