The government ordered the transfer of 15 IAS officials and 17 Himachal Administrative Service (HAS) officers.

Those officials perceived to be close to the earlier Congress regime have been transferred.

Subhash Ahluwalia, a 1989 batch IAS officer, has been sent as settlement officer to Kangra. Ahluwalia was the private secretary to the previous chief minister, Virbhadra Singh.

The BJP was voted to power last month with a simple majority of 41 seats while the Congress managed to win only 23 seats.
