San Francisco : One of the hottest mysteries in the technology world has finally been solved.
No, researchers have not come up with a perpetual motion machine or found a magical antidote to global warming. But at least the identity of the anonymous blogger who posed as Apple founder Steve Jobs in the cult hit “The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs” has been revealed.
Fake Steve Jobs, as he is known to millions of fans, was first revealed as Forbes Magazine editor Daniel Lyons by the New York Times Sunday. Lyons confirmed the scoop Monday and also announced he was turning the blog into a book.
“Apple faithful, here in our darkest hour I know what you’re thinking: What’s next for FSJ? Well, I’m taking a few days off to sit in a lake and do some yoga and meditation and non-thinking,” he wrote.
Lyon’s writings lampooned Jobs as a narcissistic, vegetarian, Zen Buddhist demigod and became one of the most widely read missives in Silicon Valley as it dismissed other companies, their products and leaders.
It even prompted an email from a woman who said she was Job’s daughter.
“You don’t sound at all like my father, but your blog is hilarious,” she wrote.
