Buenos Aires : Brazilian soccer star Roberto Carlos said he plans to retire after completing his contract with Turkish team Fenerbahce, denying Argentine press reports that he could join Boca Juniors.
“Me go to Boca? No. No way. No one has called me. I have not heard anything. It does not interest me in any case, because I have signed a three-season contract with Fenerbahce and I plan to retire after that,” he told Brazilian website TyC Sports by telephone Thursday from Turkey.
Buenos Aires press reports said he was hours away from moving to Boca Juniors.
The 34-year-old Carlos left Spanish league champions Real Madrid after 11 years in July. He helped the team win seven titles: the 1997, 2001, 2003 and 2007 Spanish Primera Liga and the 1998, 2000 and 2002 UEFA Champions League.
