This follows a decision to impose water infrastructure development surcharge in six divisional headquarters – Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Bikaner, Kota and Udaipur.

Consumers using 15,000 to 40,000 litres of water a month will now pay 25 percent more. Those consuming over 40,000 litres will pay 40 percent extra. The decision is expected to affect more than 300,000 consumers.
