Dhaka : Bangladesh’s foreign affairs adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury Sunday strongly condemned the Hyderabad bombings that claimed 42 lives, UNB news agency reported Sunday.
In a letter to Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, the adviser condemned the bombings in the strongest terms and extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives.
“Such abhorrent violence is a blot on the conscience of humanity,” he said, adding: “Our thoughts today are with those who lost their dear ones in this dastardly act.”
Meanwhile, the foreign adviser rejected Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s allegation that a Bangladeshi terrorist outfit was behind the blasts.
“This is baseless and we will contest any wrong allegation,” the adviser told reporters at the Foreign Ministry Sunday afternoon.
