An official premier office statement said Sheeran discussed cooperation with the Syrian government on rural, social, and overall development projects.

It said the situation of the immigrants and the burden their existence puts on the Syrian economy was discussed, along with the means through which the international community may help meet their needs and help Syria cope with their continued presence within its territory.

The WFP official was briefed on the government’s plans and strategies on human and overall sustainable development that aim to strike a balance between growth of population and economic growth.

Sheeran would tomorrow take part in distribution of food aid supplies to Iraqi refugees along with Syrian Minister for Red Crescent Affairs Bashar Al-Shaar, a WFP statement reports. It adds that Sheeran will hold a press conference in Damascus on December 3.
