Wellington : A magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck in the vicinity of the southern Fijian Islands at 0728 GMT Sunday.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 1395 km northeast of Auckland, New Zealand, the US Geological Survey said. The quake was reported at a depth of 187.6 km.
So far there has been no report of any damage.
