Patna : The elder brother of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP and Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh is in trouble for reportedly employing two Dalit boys to plough his field in Bihar’s Vaishali district.
After a TV channel reported the use of child labour Sunday, the district administration ordered a probe into the case and asked the police to lodge a first information report (FIR) against Raghuraj Singh.
“I have instructed the district labour superintendent to investigate the report and lodge an FIR against Raghuraj Singh,” Vaishali district magistrate Pratima Verma told IANS over telephone.
Verma said a case would be filed against Raghuraj Singh under the Child Labour Prevention Act and a drive would be launched to make the district child labour free.
Raghuvansh Prasad Singh refuted the TV channel’s claim that his brother had employed child labourers in Sahpur village.
“It (the TV channel’s report) is far from truth. Innocent villagers were trapped by media persons,” he said.
