Islamabad : Political parties in Pakistan seem besotted by the English alphabet. After the release of two manifestos based on five Es and Ds, another party is to unveil a list of poll promises focussing on five Rs.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) announced its manifesto based on five Ds – Democracy, Development, Devolution, Diversity and Defence.
This followed the manifesto of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) that focussed on five Es – Employment, Education, Energy, Environment and Equality.
Now, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League is turning to five Rs — Restoration of sacked judges, Removal of Musharraf, Revival of democracy, Revenue generation and restoring the country’s Reputation, a party leader told IANS. Pakistan goes to the polls Jan 8.
