Raipur(IANS) : Armed Maoist militants blew a police station Wednesday evening in Chhattisgarh, police officials said here.
“We have received information that armed leftist militants have attacked the Vishrampuri police station under Keshkal assembly segment,” a top police officer told IANS.
The Maoists apparently surrounded the station around 8.30 p.m. after cutting off all telephone lines and till late Wednesday no information was available on the causalities.
“We don’t have much idea about what is going on at the police station and also about the cops posted there, but reinforcement have been sent to counter the guerrillas,” the source added.
Vishrampuri police station is in insurgency-hit Bastar district, some 225 km south of capital Raipur.
