Dhaka : Poland will recruit skilled manpower from Bangladesh to work in infrastructure development projects in the country spurred by the European Soccer Cup finals 2012 it is hosting together with Ukraine.
“The Polish government have already given their approval to a proposal to recruit workers from Bangladesh,” The Financial Express newspaper quoted a Bangladeshi official as saying Thursday.
An official of the Bangladesh Overseas Employment Services Ltd. said there is an immediate demand for sending 200 workers, with expertise in construction work, to Poland.
He said they have already started the selection process for the right candidate, who would be paid according to his skills.
Poland is developing and rebuilding its football stadia for the European Soccer Cup finals.
The business community in Poland is also gearing up to renovate their hotels, motels and restaurants to accommodate thousands of guests during the event.
A government official said a total of 764,903 workers were already issued work-permits bound for Poland so far this year.
