Mumbai : Promising Delhi batsman Virat Kohli Saturday was appointed captain of the 16-member India under-19 cricket team for the tour of South Africa beginning next month.
Saurashtra’s Ravinder Jadeja will be the vice-captain of the team, which will play two three-day matches and a triangular series against the hosts and Bangladesh.
The squad leaves for South Africa Dec 30, the Indian cricket board said in a statement here after a meeting of junior team selection committee.
The board also announced four stand-bye players.
