Another US Soldier Dies in Iraq

Baghdad : The US Central Command in Iraq Saturday announced the death of another of its soldiers in a resistance attack in the Iraqi northern province of Ninive.

According to the brief military release, the American soldier lost his life on Thursday, bringing the number of US servicemen killed so far this month to 10.

On Friday, the US army reported the death of two of its soldiers in separate incidents in the Iraqi capital on Wednesday.

Washington has lost 3,891 troops and another 28,661 have been wounded since the beginning of the invasion and occupation of the Arab country in March 2003, according to Pentagon figures.

Meanwhile, a bomb detonated in front of the Salvation Council in the Baghdad neigborhood of Azamiya,on Saturday, killing two persons and wounding 19 others, police said.

The victims were members of that group, formed by tribal clans who support local forces and US troops.

In a separate incident, four persons were wounded, including two police agents, in a bomb explosion in Al Fador municipality, southeast of Baghdad.
