A report released on December 3 by the US National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), acknowledged that Iran has not been pursuing a nuclear weapons development program.

Certain European states believe that the cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should continue, Hosseini said, adding, “We have explicitly announced that we will continue our cooperation with the agency based on the Non- Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the Work Plan.”
“The NIE report proved that transfer of Iran’s nuclear case from the IAEA to the UN Security Council had no logical justification,” he reiterated.

On situation in Lebanon, Hosseini said, “Tehran supports national consensus among Lebanese groups and personalities. We believe that Lebanon problem needs a Lebanese solution.”
Tehran believes that interference of foreign countries would make the situation more complicated, he reiterated.

As to the Palestine conference in Paris, Hosseini said the conference is “inefficient and ineffective”.

Any conference or gathering which does not examine the Palestinian issues fairly, will be inefficient and ineffective, he said citing to the Annapolis confab as one of those gatherings.
