Fawzi Barhoum, Hamas spokesman in Gaza told reporters that Paris conference was held to serve Israel’s security interests and didn’t focus on giving the Palestinian people their legitimate rights.

“The conference, which is held under the title of supporting the establishment of the Palestinian state, is a conference to flourish the Palestinian economy for serving the security interests of the state of Israel,” said Barhoum.

He added that the conference “doesn’t support at all giving the Palestinians their legitimate rights. It is only held to give the Palestinians money in order to protect the security of Israel.”

Barhoum said that Annapolis conference “was a good example, which only gives Israel credits and support, while the Palestinians got nothing, except expansion of settlements and more escalation.”

President Mahmoud Abbas, who delivered a speech during Paris donors conference called on Hamas to end its Gaza takeover before resuming any dialogue, a fact that was stressed by his Fatah movement’s leaders.

Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip by force after it unseated President Abbas’ security forces in mid June. Gaza Strip has been under a tightened Israeli siege since then.
