New Delhi : Minister of State for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes Thursday sought to link the revolution in digital technology in India to the way the Mahabharata was written.
“When Maharshi Vyas decided to write Mahabharata, he invoked Ganesha. Ganesha agreed to (write) it but put a condition that Vyas will not take any break (in dictation) and complete it in one go,” he told a media and entertainment summit.
In today’s age, the minister said, such a feat can be repeated with the help of digital technology.
The minister was speaking at “Focus 2007”, which has been organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham).
Fernandes also had a word of praise for Ramlila, the annual theatrical rendition of the Ramayana.
“Ramlila is played every year but the story remains the same. Every year the same thing is repeated but there is a change in the format,” he said. “It has become technology-oriented and it’s fantastic.”
