Patna : A Dalit man was lynched by powerful landowners in Bihar’s Madhepura district over a dispute related to the panchayat polls, police said Wednesday.
Nago Rishidev, 45, a landless labourer, died Tuesday after he was beaten up by landowners and their henchmen in Maura Kaviyati village, about 250 km from here.
Nago’s relatives said he was beaten to death over a dispute related to panchayat by-elections.
A complaint was lodged with the police against four people but no one has been arrested yet.
