The heads of the Education Board of Sindh have unanimously passed the proposal for the secondary school certificate (SSC) and higher secondary certificate (HSC) examinations held during the recent power crisis.

Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad is the executive authority who will take the final decision.

"It is logical," said an official from the board, while commenting on the proposed compensation. "Karachi has never experienced such power failure, particularly at the time of the SSC and HSC examinations. Students prepared for their examinations facing the trouble of blackouts, eight to 12 hours long."

"It was also a time when the weather in the city was extremely hot and humid. They faced the same conditions at the examination centers," Daily Times quoted him as saying.
