Baghdad : Security authorities imposed a curfew Sunday in the southern areas of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
A brief statement by the Multi-National Force (MNF) said pedestrians and vehicles would not be allowed on the streets, thereby allowing the execution of operations in East Rasheed district.
The curfew was imposed upon the directive of the Iraqi security forces and is limited to that area alone, it said.
Earlier Sunday, a booby-trapped car exploded in the area, but no casualties were reported.
The curfew, according to the statement, will continue up to 5 am (local time) on Monday.
