Shimla : Tourists visiting Himachal Pradesh this monsoon can avail discounts of up to 40 percent in all properties owned by the state's tourism development corporation. The offer comes into effect from Thursday.
"Discounts will vary from 20 percent to 40 percent in all Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) properties across the state," Rajendra Sharma, a senior HPTDC official (DGM HPTDC), said here Wednesday.
"These packages will be effective from July 5 to July 14 to raise the occupancy in our hotels," he said.
HPTDC hotels have already been booked in advance at several popular destinations, officials said.
The state run company (HPTDC) has properties in some of the most scenic locations of the state, including heritage buildings which have been converted into hotels.
"The HPTDC has also announced a honeymoon package for couples in its selected luxurious hotels located in Manali, Shimla, Naggar castle, Kullu, Chail, Sarahan and Kalpa," said Sharma.
The HPTDC has also announced lower tariffs for those travelling from Himachal Pradesh to neighbouring Leh by its luxurious coaches during the monsoon. The 480-km-long Manali-Leh route is one of the most popular ways to get to Leh.
