New EPL season telecast begins in Sunderland

London : English Premier League fans in Asia are in for a treat with 92 matches being shown live on television this season, the Premiership website announced Tuesday.

Coverage of the 2007-08 season will start with newly promoted Sunderland's opening-day clash with Tottenham Hotspur from the Stadium of Light August 11.

The following day two more matches are on offer as champions Manchester United take on Reading and Chelsea host Birmingham.

Four match-ups between the top four from last season will be shown by early November – Liverpool v Chelsea (August 19), Manchester United v Chelsea (September 23), Liverpool v Arsenal (October 28) and Arsenal v Manchester United (November 3).

A number of major derbies including Manchester City v Manchester United (August 19), Everton v Liverpool (October 20), Sunderland v Newcastle (November 10) and Birmingham v Aston Villa (November 11) will also be showcased.

Former captain Roy Keane's return to Manchester United as manager of Sunderland will be featured on TV on September 1.
