Pederson told reporters Thursday reaching full truce would be materialised if the Israeli and Lebanese prisoners were released, with the cessation of Israeli violations of Lebanese airspace, halting of smuggling of wepaons through Lebanese borders, the uprooting of cluster bombs and resolution of the Sheba’a Farms issue.

On possible future attacks against the UN forces in the south, Pederson said: “We are ready for anything happening in the south.”

Six Spanish peacekeepers were killed and several others injured in a bomb attack against the UN forces recently.

On the political dispute in Lebanon, Pederson said it was important to find solutions for the crisis that was harming the political, economic and security of the country.
