Bhopal : The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet at its meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today accorded sanction to eight irrigation projects costing about Rs. 820 crore. On completion, these would irrigate 1 lakh 02 thousand 278 hectare additionally. Besides, the proposal of new four-lane Bhopal by-pass project was also approved.
According to an official Press release the cabinet accorded revised sanction of Rs. 111 crore 67.33 lakh for Mahuar medium project in Shivpuri district. It also gave revised administrative sanction of Rs. 307 crore 47 lakh for Harsi high level irrigation project in Gwalior-Bhind district. Revised sanction of Rs. 46 crore 95 lakh 39 thousand was given for Chambal (Kanera) lift irrigation project of Bhind district. The cabinet gave administrative sanction of Rs. 154 crore 54 lakh 75 thousand for Sagarh medium project in Vidisha district. In the same district, Dehari medium project was given administrative sanction of Rs. 28 crore 35 lakh 25 thousand. Administrative sanction of Rs. 33 crore 24 lakh 73 thousand was accorded for Bagharru medium project in the same district.
The cabinet also accorded administrative sanction of Rs. 43 crore 47 lakh 38 thousand for Seep Kolar link diversion project in Sehore district and administrative sanction of Rs. 94.38 crore for Singhpur barrage medium project in Chhatarpur district.
The cabinet endorsed four-lane new Bhopal by-pass project under B.O.T. mode for which administrative sanction of Rs. 242 crore 90 lakh would be accorded. The concession period for this project including construction period would be 15 years. The toll rates under the project would be as per the rates prescribed by Madhya Pradesh government, but the annual increase in the toll rates would not be 7 percent as mentioned in the notification but would be as per the wholesale price index, which would be effective from September, 1 at the rates prevailing at the end of year on March 31.
The project envisages conversion of the two-lane road from Misrod to Raisen road into four-lane having a length of 13.80 km. A 27.74 km four-lane road would be constructed from Raisen to Narsinghgarh road (near Gandhinagar). The two-lane road from Narsinghgarh road to Indore road with a length of 10.50 km would be converted into four-lane one.
