New Delhi : Mild earthquake measuring 4.9 on Richter scale was felt in some parts of North India early Monday.
According to initial reports the epicentre of the quake was estimated at Uttarkashi in Uttrakhand.
Tremors were also felt in Delhi, Meerut and Haridwar at around 4.30 a.m.
The last major quake in Uttarkashi region was in October 1991, which had killed nearly 800 people.
