Liverpool : Indian boxers Thokchom Nanao Singh (48 kg), Sunil (51 kg) and Rakesh Arvind Kalaskar (60 kg) stormed into the Commonwealth Boxing Championships finals that will take place Saturday.
The three have thus assured at least silver medals, if not the gold.
Indian boxers have so far won six bronze medals having lost the semi-finals of their respective weight categories.
In all, 15 countries are taking part in the event.
Nanao Singh defeated P. Butler of Canada 26-6 points in the quarterfinals, and then beat M.Z. Azizi of Malaysia 26-18 in the semi-final. He will meet P. Barnes of Northern Ireland in the final.
Sunil defeated T.B. Harsha Kumara of Sri Lanka when the referee stopped the contest as the Indian was leading 22-2 in quarter finals and then defeated K.A.M. Abdullah of Malaysia 21-0 in the semi finals. He meets P. Butler of England in the final.
In the 60 kg category, Kalaskar defeated P.O. Cote of Canada 20-10 in quarterfinals and overcame P.C. Mttagwa of Tanzania 22-20 in semi finals. He now fights T. Stalker of England in the final.
