Pretoria : Iran's Ambassador to Kinshasa Hamid-Reza Qomi discussed issues of mutual interest with First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Congo on Thursday.
The Congolese deputy hailed establishment of religious democracy in the Islamic Republic of Iran and said the efforts of Iran's government and nation to maintain and strengthen country's independence and development is exemplary.
Referring to Iran's success on nuclear science, Apala asked for expansion of mutual ties between the two countries and called for using Iran's experiences in different fields.
The Congolese deputy speaker of parliament also said the list of Congolese deputies of parliamentary friendship group of DR Congo and Iran will be issued next week.
He also extended the speaker's invitation for Iran's Majlis Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel to visit Kinshasa.
Iran's ambassador to Kinshasa, by stressing the important role of parliaments in bilateral relations, said the establishment of parliamentary friendship group would be an important step toward such ties.
Qomi also met with DR Congo Planning Minister Olivier Kamitatu Etsu on Thursday in Kinshasa.
In the meeting, the Congolese minister explained his country's developing plan in the fields of recovery of economic infrastructures, including road building, railways and energy.
He also explained his country's program to strengthen investment security.
Iran's ambassador, for his part, expressed his country's readiness to participate in the Congo developing plans and underlined the necessity of securing investment in the DR Congo.
The two sides discussed ways of expanding the mutual cooperation in the field of economic infrastructures.
