Bali : Former world number one Lindsay Davenport will return to playing singles after almost a year when she appears in a tournament here in September.
"I've enjoyed the tournament in the past and feel it's the perfect place to begin playing singles again," she said.
Davenport, 31, who has won three Grand Slams and an Olympic gold medal, quit the women's tour last year with back trouble and has since had her first child.
She recently announced she would play doubles with Lisa Raymond in August.
Also scheduled to play at the tournament, which starts Sep 10, are world number three Jelena Jankovic, Daniela Hantuchova and Patty Schnyder.
