London : Graeme Hick will prolong his county career for at least another season after agreeing a new one-year contract with Worcestershire.
The 41-year-old former England batsman is still a prolific run-scorer at county level and this year passed the 40,000 first-class run mark, reports Sky Sports News.
Zimbabwe-born Hick, who has been with Worcestershire since 1984, insists the passion for the game remains undiminished and even believes he can play a part in helping the club win silverware in the near future.
"I am really enjoying my cricket this year and still feel as fit as ever," he declared.
"Playing cricket is what I love doing and my enthusiasm for the game remains.
"I also believe we are close to having a very good team and I certainly want to be part of it when we start winning a few titles."
News that Hick will be staying on at the club will come as a welcome boost after what has proved a difficult summer for Worcestershire.
The county is bottom of the county championship Division One table having seen two four-day home matches washed out at New Road and may not be able to return to their home ground this summer.
