Dhenkanal (Orissa) : Doctors in Orissa Saturday removed a pair of forceps or surgical pincers from the abdomen of a young woman that she alleged was left carelessly by doctors who operated on her four years ago.
Binapani Khatua, 25, of Jenapur village in the district of Cuttack some 40 km from the state capital Bhubaneswar was suffering from pain in the abdomen since the day she was delivered, by a Caesarean section, of her first child four years ago.
During operation at the sub-divisional government hospital at Athagarh in her home district the doctors had left the forceps in her abdomen, the woman told IANS.
"My wife had suffered intense pain because of the doctors' negligence. The government should punish such negligent doctors," Kathua's husband said.
