According to the Indian Meteorological Department here, the maximum temperature recorded Monday was 38.5 degree Celsius, that is two degrees below the normal temperature.

Due to the cloudy sky, the minimum temperature has risen by one degree. While the minimum temperature recorded Sunday was 30.3 degree Celsius, on Monday it was recorded at 31.3. This is three degrees above the normal temperature.

"There might be dust storm or thunder storm accompanied by squall later in the day at a few places in the capital. The skies will remain cloudy even tomorrow," said a met official.

Relieved at the change in the weather, however minimal it might be, Richa Misra, a student said: "Unlike yesterday (Sunday), I could gather courage to step out of my house Monday. Although it is warm, the cloudy sky has brought us some respite from the heat".
