Kerala IT company donates saplings to forest department

Thiruvananthapuram : US Technology, a leading IT firm based in Technopark here, Monday donated 2007 saplings to the forest department of Kerala to celebrate the second successful year of its eco-initiative.

Forests Minister Benoy Viswam, who planted the first sapling near the Bhavani building at the It hub of Technopark, lauded the Green Day initiative and said: "It has helped all of us contribute to the greater good of society and environment that we live in.

"It has led us to being more accountable and aware of the consequences of our conduct towards nature and its resources. I am sure such a goodwill initiative will surely succeed. I wish other companies follow the suit and become more eco-friendly and environment-conscious," said Viswam.
