India beat England in lawyers’ cricket tie

New Delhi : Indian lawyers defeated their British counterparts by five wickets in a six-a-side cricket match in England organised by the Bar Council of England and the Law Society of England and Wales.

The Indian team won the toss and elected to field in the match played Sunday. England were all out for 90 runs in 24 overs and the visitors achieved the target in just 12.3 overs after losing only one wicket, according a release issued here Monday by the Indian Advocates Cricket Association (IACA).

Girija Shankar Mishra was the most successful bowler, taking three wickets for 15 runs. Among the batsmen, Siddarth Sankar Ray made an unbeaten 54.
