Jammu : Militants shot dead a policeman and another person in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district, police said Monday.
A group of armed militants went to Moila village in the mountainous Ramban district, about 200 km north of Jammu, late Sunday night. They barged into the house of Head Constable Khurshid and sprayed bullets on him, killing him on the spot.
The militants then went to the house nearby of one Mohammad Salim, brother of a surrendered militant, and fired indiscriminately, killing Salim and injuring his wife.
Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Basant Rath, said security forces have launched a search for the militants.
