Cairo : A delegation from the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine headed by leader Ramadan Shalah arrived in Cairo on Friday for talks with Egyptian officials on restoration of stability to the Palestinian Territories.
“The talks are part of coordination with the Islamic Jihad seeking a solution to the current Palestinian crisis,” the Middle East News Agency (MENA) quoted an Egyptian official as saying.
Egypt had exerted enormous efforts with the Palestinian factions trying to gather them in a comprehensive meeting in Cairo but it withdrew its security delegation and the diplomatic mission in Gaza following the recent events in the Strip.
Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian leaders are playing the mediator between the two rivals Fatah and Hamas.
