Civil services aspirant commits suicide in Delhi

New Delhi : A 23-year-old civil services aspirant committed suicide Tuesday by hanging himself in his north Delhi residence, police said.

Amit, who hailed from Lucknow, hanged himself in his rented house in Timarpur area in the afternoon.

According to police, his suicide note read: "I have chosen wrong subjects for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) exams but I should have gone for some professional course. I can't disappoint my family anymore so I am taking my life and no one should be held responsible for my action."

Police have registered a case and informed the deceased's parents about the incident.
