“With the liberalization, airliners from member countries can carry as many passengers as they can,” director of civil aviation Tri Sunoko was quoted as saying Thursday by leading news website Detikcom.

He noted that before the new ruling, airliners from Singapore could carry up to 24,000 passengers a week from Jakarta while the quota for Indonesian airliners was limited to 27,000 passengers a week from Singapore.

Sunoko said member countries, not prepared yet for the liberalization, were given time until 2015 to ratify the new ruling.
