New Delhi : Strange as it may sound, a team of Delhi Police in mufti were detained by Meerut police Friday evening when they went there to arrest a businessman on suspicion of carjacking.
Around eight plainclothes Delhi Police crime branch officers went to Meerut and arrested a local businessman Bobby Ahuja. However, they had not informed the local police authorities of their operation.
Their actions aroused the suspicion of the locals, who nabbed them and handed the sleuths over to the Meerut Police, police sources here said.
"Our senior officials are in touch with Meerut Police and the confusion would be sorted out soon," Delhi Police spokesman Rajan Bhagat told IANS.
