Gaza : Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian movement of Islamic Jihad claimed in a statement Saturday responsibility of hitting Ashkelon southern Israel with a locally made missile.
According to the statement, an “Quds3” missile was launched at the city this evening as a “natural retaliation response” to the continuous Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.
Meanwhile, Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military arm, reaffirmed toady that self-restraint it was exercising vis-a-vis the Israeli military escalation in the Palestinian territories “would not last long”.
Assassination of three al-Quds Brigades’ members yesterday had illustrated Israel’s craving for bloodshed, in an implementation for a policy aimed at collectively punishing the Palestinians, the Brigades’ spokesman Abu-Obadiah said in a statement placed on the Brigades’ internet site.
In a related development, five Palestinians were injured this evening by an Israeli special forces’ unit, which made an incursion into the northern Gaza strip, medical sources said.
After coordinating with Israeli Army, ambulances managed to evacuate the wounded from Alei Sinai, the sources added.
Earlier this morning, and in the same area, Israeli Army troops arrested two Palestinians and transferred them to an unknown destination, after shooting at them.
