Chittagong : Play was further delayed due to soggy ground conditions on the fifth and final day of the first India-Bangladesh Test here Tuesday.

The umpires will now inspect the ground to decide if action would be possible.

Lot of playtime has already been lost over the last four days while dark clouds hovered over the city. Heavy showers are forecast for the day.

There was no play on the third day also due to rains at the Bir Shrestha Shahid Ruhul Amin Stadium.

Umpires Daryl Harper of Australia and Billy Doctrove inspected the ground at 11 a.m. and said they were concerned about some areas of the outfield.

India in their second innings had scored 44 for two wickets Monday to take their overall lead to 193.

The second and final Test will begin Friday in Dhaka. India had won the rain-marred One-day International series 2-0 earlier.
