Minority Commission demands report on police action in Hyderabad

New Delhi: National Minority Commission has demanded a report on
killings of Muslims subsequent to the bomb blast in Mecca Mosque in
Hyderabad. Police opened fire over people protesting against the blast. A total of 18 people were killed in the incidence out of which at least 5 died in police firing.

Minority Commission said in a press release that 4 out of 5 people
were hit on the upper part of their body.

The press release said that Commission knows that if required police
should fire such a way so that crowd is dispersed without harming any
one. Police is required to shoot in the air or legs with rubber bullets.In Hyderabad police disobeyed this rule resulting in death.

Meanwhile, Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Maulana Syed Ahmad Bukhari and leaders of different organisations will demonstrate today before Prime Minister's residence.

A press release from Jama Masjid New Delhi stated that Ahmad Bukhari
wrote a letter on 19th May seeking permission to meet with Prime Minister with this concern but no response was received from Prime
Minister's Office. Today another reminder was sent to PMO. If no
answer is received then Shahi Imam along with other leaders will
proceed towards Prime Minister's residence from gate no.1 of
historical Jama Masjid at 4pm. If this group is not permitted to go to Prime Minister's residence then this will give arrest.
